You've Got Mail book

The first "grown up" movie I ever saw in theater that didn't involve dinosaurs, robots, and aliens was You've Got Mail. It was my first movie with all talking and no explosions. I was ten years old, and in hindsight I think my mother just wanted someone to accompany her to the latest Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan feature. Nevertheless, the film has a tight grip on my psyche as a core memory where I felt myself grow up in realtime.

This book is inspired by the email correspondence of the main characters in the film You've Got Mail. All of the written dialogue is presented in very dynamic typographic layout that corresponds with the plot of the film. It is digitally printed and hand-bound.

I created this book for a Typographic Design course in my graduate studies at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. The book is still used as an example piece for current students in the course.
